I love my non-blood family… and this weekend I've never felt closer to them. We fight like family, but we love like family. We've been through many life struggles that most could never fathom. And that's what makes us unbreakable. As a unit, we lose, we win, we battle our inner demons, but we do it together, no-one is ever left behind. As a family, we are loved, resilient, proud, wise and understood. Like all human beings, we are challenged, but we strive to be better than the person we were yesterday.

This photo captured me and my brother Abdul, in possibly one of the most profound conversations I've ever had with him. The content of the conversation will stay between us, but it was a special moment that I will cherish for the rest of my days.

Every time I see my non-blood family, I leave a greater husband, father and human being. I leave with greater meaning.
