Tomorrow night, I premiere the second instalment to my two minute ‘Worst Days’ film series. This film features my good friend Daniel Null. Dan is a boxing trainer at my gym and maybe one of the biggest smartasses I know… and I know a lot of smartasses.

I first met Dan around 8 years ago. I was walking into my local gym, when I heard this American dude yell out ‘Yo, Collie Buddz!’ he had recognised my ‘Blind to you haters’ t-shirt, which was a reference taken from a popular Collie Buddz song. No one had ever made the correlation between the two, so I already found him intriguing. After a 10-minute chat, I already knew that this dude was on the level.

Over the next few years, we built camaraderie around boxing, insulting each other and a little real conversation in-between, the best kind of friendship.

Dan is an authentic dude, what you see is what you get. He’s quick to tell you how he sees it, but he’s open to education and growth. It’s rare and refreshing to meet someone with such forward thinking characteristics.

I’m really lucky to know someone like Dan and I am equally grateful to him, for sharing his story with me.

Dan’s instalment of ‘Worst Days’ premieres tomorrow night at 6pm (AEST).
